Meatballs with salsa macha

Here's a simple recipe for a tomato-based sauce, jazzed up with Chili Maven's MILD & SMOKY salsa macha, to go with ready-made meatballs. This tomato sauce is versatile and can complement a variety of dishes, not just meatballs.

Ingredients

1 onion, thinly sliced

2 tablespoons of MILD & SMOKY salsa macha

1 bag ready-made and cooked meatballs

1 can tomato sauce or passata

1 cup broth

1/2 cup of heavy cream

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

method

  1. In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

    Add the chopped onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened.Heat a dutch oven or pan over medium heat.

  2. Add the sliced onions to the pan and sauté for 8 - 10 minutes until softened and slightly browned.

  3. Add the MILD & SMOKY salsa macha and stir well to coat the onions.

  4. Add the tomato sauce and broth. Mix well.

  5. Add the meatballs, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.

  6. Take off heat and stir in the cream.

  7. Serve the meatballs and sauce over cooked pasta, rice, or with crusty bread. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.

    This tomato sauce is versatile and can complement a variety of dishes. Add veggies or potatoes to make it even heartier.
