Salsa macha is a unique and delicious condiment from Mexico. Itโs made with a variety of dried chillis, nuts, seeds, and garlic which are infused in oil. At Chili Maven, weโve created two recipes that showcase the flavour, not just the fire, of the chillis.
Salsa macha is often used as a topping or garnish, but at Chili Maven we enjoy eating it anything that needs a little flavor boost!

Drizzle, dip, smother, spread or marinade โฆ on anything and everything!
Beans on toast, Sunday roast, or simply as a marinadeโฆthese are some of our favourite ways to use Chili Mavenโs salsa macha. But its super versatile, add it to anything that you like.

It depends. Chili Maven has two variations of salsa macha: one that adds flavour (MILD) and one that adds fire (SPICY).
Traditionally, salsa macha is super spicy (โmachaโ means brave in Spanish), but Chili Maven has created a MILD recipe that tames the spice and showcases the flavours, not just the fire, of the chilis.
However, we also have a more traditional SPICY recipe that delivers more heat, for those that like it that way.

Shelf life is 1 year, but in our experience a jar rarely lasts more than a month as we use it every day!
-
Keep your jar of salsa macha readily available on your kitchen counter, away from heat and sunlight. Do not refrigerate. Make sure to use a clean spoon each time!
-
Mix well - use a sturdy spoon to mix it all up and ensure you get the bits of chillis and seeds combined with the oil.
If youโre nearing the end and your salsa macha has dried up, just drizzle in a bit of oil and mix well.
